The department aims to enhance the culture of society as a whole by providing people-oriented education and developing professional performers, educators, and music scholars who are top musicians with Christian character.The department develops professionals who can contribute to the enhancement of culture by being capable musicians. This is done through intensive musical training and academic exploration which cultivaties pragmatic musicians who can live up to the expectations of the community.
The music major offers a wide range of specialities including piano, organ, string and wind instruments, voice, and composition/arrangement. Each speciality consolidates practical education while enabling students to build up varied performance and stage experience so that they can develop as competitive musicians. Graduates select career paths as professional musicians, music scholars, educators, etc. and are active professionally in various fields onto which music has been grafted - such as music journalism and broadcasting.
The art and performance program focuses on cultivating skills and capabilities required for a wide range of performing arts, so that students can become competent artists and leaders in society. In addition to acting, dancing and vocal training, students go through intense exercises and training to build a solid foundation as performing artists. Professional artists are invited to give lectures and students can absorb both theoretical and practical knowledge as they become professional, creative, and all-round entertainers. After graduation, students pursue careers as actors, TV commercial models, reporters, show hosts, dancers, singers, musical performers, or managers in the entertainment industry. They may also choose to teach acting to students, become producers at event companies, work as stage staff or engage in developing cultural media.
